He is the Specialist Adviser and Research Consultant for the 'LearnHigher' referencing learning area (CETL project), and a visiting specialist adviser for the Learner Development Unit at Bradford.

Colin is the author of The Complete Guide to Referencing and Avoiding Plagiarism (2007); How to Improve your Assignment Results (2009) and is co-author of The Ultimate Study Skills Handbook (2010), all published by The Open University Press.
