Very often the public libraries possess adequate lists of refer ence books. Where this is the case, and if the library will place the necessary books fully at the disposal of the high school classes, there is no need for duplication by the public library and the public schools. To be satisfactory, however, the books should be taken to the high school study room for the entire time during which the respective volumes Will be of use.
