Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a geological and topographical study of the remote Mackenzie Mountains of northern Canada, providing valuable insights into this relatively unexplored region. The vast wilderness, lying between the Yukon and Mackenzie rivers, encapsulates three distinct landscape types: a low-lying plateau, rugged mountain chains, and high, glaciated peaks. These geographical formations, shaped over eons by erosion and uplift, reveal the complex geological history of the area. The author provides an in-depth analysis of the mountain ranges, their structure, and the impact of glaciation. The book also delves into the region's human history, from early Indigenous exploration to the fur trade and the Klondike gold rush, offering a comprehensive understanding of the area's significance and its place within the broader Canadian landscape.
