La prefazione a questo libro la ho lasciata fare a Carlo Dati con quel suo mirabil Discorso Dell' obbligo di ben par lare la propria lingua; ed a me riman solo da avvertire, che questi Diporti, e gli altri opuscoli miei, sono seconde o terze edizioni, ritoccate qua e là e corrette: che, il 'dz'alogo del Prof. Di Giovanni, l'ho stam pato innànzi all' Opera mia dei Dz'portz', perchè di essi parla ero-professa, e compie con molta dottrina e con elegante dettato, alcune proposizioni la me solo accennate. La intenzione mia è stata quella di fare un volume 9353ttailo con profitto coloroche amano e professano gli studi di lingua, nè credono oziose le quistioni sopra di essa anzi le reputano di gran momento alla vera Italc'anz'tcì e (absz't arrogante'a verbo) mi conforto che, se il presente libro si farà entrar nelle scuole, lo leggeranno con utilità e non senza qualche diletto, i giovani studiosi; ed i maestri ne piglie ranno spesso materia ad efficaci lezioni nella soggetta materia.
