Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the profound realm of thinking, exploring its nature and significance in our lives. The author contrasts two distinct modes of thought: calculative thinking, which dominates our modern world with its focus on science and practical applications, and meditative thinking, a deeper and more contemplative approach often overlooked in today's society. Drawing upon historical examples from early Hindu and Greek thought, the author illustrates the enduring relevance of meditative thinking, highlighting its connection to our authentic existence and its potential to unveil a new understanding of meaning and being. This book guides readers on a journey beyond the surface of everyday experience, inviting them to embrace the challenges and rewards of meditative thinking. Through evocative language and insightful analysis, the author sheds light on the complexities of meditative thinking, including its relationship to concepts like releasement, openness, and waiting. This book serves as a compelling invitation to embark on a transformative exploration of thought, revealing the profound impact it can have on our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Ultimately, this book suggests that by engaging in meditative thinking, we can discover a deeper connection to the essence of being and unlock a richer understanding of our place in the universe.
