Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book tells the life story of Mary, mother of Jesus Christ, from her birth to the time she enters the temple of Jerusalem at the age of 12 as part of her religious education. The author draws on the writings of recognized experts on Mary, including Epiphanius of Salamis, Ignatius of Antioch, John of Damascus, Dionysius the Areopagite, and others, in order to paint as vivid a picture as possible of Mary's life up to this point. Long before the time of Mary's birth, people had prophesied her coming and her role as the mother of God. For instance, Isaiah wrote about a virgin giving birth. Ezekiel spoke of a closed gate leading to the inner sanctum of the temple, and this was interpreted as a sign of Mary's perpetual virginity. This book takes these prophecies seriously and presents Mary as a woman of faith and devotion who was chosen by God for a very specific purpose. She was to be the mother of Jesus, the savior of humankind. From the first moment of her life, Mary was filled with grace and blessed by God. She was conceived without original sin and remained a virgin throughout her life. She was also given the gift of prophecy and was able to foresee the future. Mary's life was not without its challenges. She had to deal with the skepticism of her contemporaries, including her own husband, Joseph. She also had to endure the pain of seeing her son crucified. But through it all, she remained faithful to God and never wavered in her belief that he would save the world through Jesus. This book is a valuable resource for anyone who wants to learn more about the life of Mary. It is a well-written and informative book that is based on the latest scholarship. It is a must-read for anyone who is interested in the history of Christianity or in the life of Jesus Christ. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 9780366665211_0
