Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good Plus. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. Translated from the Serbo-Croatian by Ralph Manheim. As you can see from the photos the covers are in very nice shape. There really isn't any conspicuous wear. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages, no binding issues. These pages are exceptionally clean. I'm scrolling through without finding any instances of soiling. Nor are there any turned-down corner creases or dogeared corners. I found only one thin crease off the outer edge of one page. There is some light dust staining on the middle and bottom page edges, but that has no impact on the actual pages. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The dust jacket can be seen in the first few photos. It's very clean. There are a few lines of clouding resulting from the changeover in the fabric of the book (see fourth photo). The jacket doesn't have much wear, just a little spot at the bottom edge of the spine where the black peeled off. The flaps are in very solid shape. They are very clean. They do have some uniform toning. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. William Gass writing for The New York Review of Books is quoted on the dust jacket: In Ki? case, it is the consistent quality of the prose that counts. It is how, sentence by sentence, the song is built, and immeasurable meanings meant. It is not the plan but it's nearly faultless execution that takes away the breath, and produces admiration.' 'Danilo Ki? was a Serbian novelist, short story writer, essayist and translator. Ki? was influenced by Bruno Schulz, Vladimir Nabokov, Jorge Luis Borges, Ivo Andri? and Miroslav Krle?a, among other authors. His best known works include Hourglass, A Tomb for Boris Davidovich, and The Encyclopedia of the Dead.'. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 002639
