Continues the popular YA series that started out as, "Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators," then dropped Hitchcock's name, but kept the adventures involving the characters created by Robert Arthur--Jupiter Jones, Peter Crenshaw, & Bob Andrews--going through the original 43 titles. This is Book #39 in the original series, in one of the scarcer Gibraltar Library Bindings (GLBs) that were issued only to libraries; it is also one of the titles that were ONLY issued in this format & in paperback, never in the trade binding. Requisite GLB logo on back cover. It is an EX-LIB copy, with the usual stamps & markings & card pocket in front matter & outside page edges. A FIRST EDITION, third printing from 1984, with covert art by Robert Adragna (unattributed in text), no internals, blank endpapers. Hardcover 8vo has decorative paper over boards; no DJ as issued (never had one). Condition is Fair: heavy rubbing to extremities, with paper loss in some areas. Clear tape to spine, partially removed, with tiny area of sticker pull to heel. Aside from the library markings, the interior is cleaner than would be expected & completely unmarked, pages white, binding straight & strong. A rarity, despite condition!
