Margolies, author of Sensual Pleasures: A Woman's Guide, with her husband, psychiatrist Genevie, now presents a guide to improved male-female relationships. They theorize that modern men can be undone by hatred and fear of women, as Samson was destroyed by Delilah who beguiled him into exposing his weakness. The question why is asked and answered here in obvious examples: today's Samsons feel particularly vulnerable, since their partners prove themselves as financially independent and capable as males; on the other hand, Delilahs proliferate, undermining their lovers, sometimes unwittingly. From interviewees, the authors have learned of situations revealing strained and/or broken unions comparable to the biblical tragedy. Questionnaires for both potential Delilahs and Samsons are included.
