In the part on IDS Applications the author designs an intrusion detection system for a nuclear power plant, a public school complex and a high-rise office building, and he emphasizes a different design aspect in each system. Threat/Physical Security Matrix has been added to assist in designing a system. New chapters on visual surveillance and alarm assessment, and access control have also been added.
