Non credasi per questo ch' egli non fosse uno de principali ingegni del tempo suo, chè come tale lo dimostrano i suoi legami d' intima a micizia cògl'illustri suoi contemporanei il Corui tramano Lodovico Carbone e Batista Guari Opere varie, delle quali ha dato il Catalogo il Fantuzzi ne'scrittori bolognesi.
