Quand le Parlement interdit le travail de nuit des en fants et des femmes, quand il limite la durée du travail pour les adultes, quand il protège la santé des ouvriers en prolnibant l'emploi de certaines substances nocives, quand il organise l'assurance obligatoire en cas d'accident ou de maladie, quand il prépare les retraites aux vieux ouvriers, il essaie de résoudre chaque fois une partie de la question sociale, telle que nous la comprenons aujourd'hui. Et, pour le dire en pas sant, c'est un signe bien éclatant de la force grandissante du prolétariat que de voir tous les partis indistinct: ment se vanter à l'envi d'un égal amour des travailleurs, d'une égale sollicitude pour leurs besoins et pour leurs intérêts.
