This is a hands-on guide to the basics of computing, specifically tailored to the needs of hotel and catering students. The emphasis is on practical activities which are centred around key functions in the hotel/catering industry, such as ordering of wine. Through these exercises and other assignments the student learns both the technical and practical content of most course requirements, in particular BTEC and City and Guilds.
