Ruth Culham, President of The Culham Writing Company and former Assessment Program Unit Manager at Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory in Portland, Oregon, is the recognized expert in the 6+1 Trait Writing assessment field. Ruth is the author of the highly successful 6+1 Traits of Writing: The Complete Guide for the Primary Grades, Scholastic, Inc. 2005, as well as the companion books 40 Reproducible Forms for the Writing Traits Classroom, Writing to Prompts in the Trait-Based Classroom: Literature Response, and Writing to Prompts in the Trait-Based Classroom: Content Areas (with Amanda Wheeler).

Ruth Culham, Ed.D., is the president of the Culham Writing Company and former Unit Manager of the Assessment Program at Education Northwest in Portland, Oregon.
