Poised, bright, and sophisticated, LeAnn is riding high on a wave of success, and the future holds endless possibilities for her.  Being one of the music industry's hottest new talents is just the beginning for her.  Success wasn't handed to her on a silver platter; she has worked hard to reach her goals, and she has a burning desire to keep her career going.  She's clearly loving every minute of her success and remains passionate about her hopes, plans, and dreams.

LeAnn continues to outsell everyone on the country charts and is selling just as well on the pop charts.  She has knocked down the fence that divided country music from pop.  As Blue continued its reign as the number one country album in America, it climbed back into fourth place on Billboard's pop album chart the week of January 13, 1997, passing such top sellers as Alanis Morrissette, Bush, and Toni Braxton.  For the first time since the days of Garth Brooks, country is once again at the forefront of American music, and the girl responsible for it all is a bubbly, talented fourteen-year-old from Texas named LeAnn Rimes.

Country's sweetheart has nothing to be blue about these days.  She has paved the way for country's new sound by returning to its traditions.  In doing so, she has revitalized country music for a younger generation.  A true star with a long career ahead of her, LeAnn promises to keep taking chances and coming up with surprises.

Perhaps her biggest surprise was the night of the 39th Annual Grammy Awards. LeAnn, dressed in a long, light blue dress, looked stunning the night of the awards, held at Madison Square Garden in New York.  Out of her four nominations, she won for Best Female Country Vocal and Best New Artist. Songwriter Bill Mack received the Best Country Song Grammy for LeAnn's hit "Blue".

When LeAnn was named Best New Artist, her eyes filled with tears as she walked up the stairs to the microphone.  "I never expected this at all," she said, clutching the Grammy.  "This award means more to me than anything in the world!"  LeAnn delivered an emotional speech, thanking the people who had helped her realize her dream.  By winning two major awards at just fourteen years old, LeAnn entered the Grammy history books.

There's much more to come from country's hottest teen sensation.
