Über die Autorinnen und Autoren

Mohmmad Younus Wani, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, College of Science, University of Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Wani graduated from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India in 2013. Received a senior research fellowship from CSIR-India in 2012 and FCT postdoctoral fellowship from Portugal in 2013. Worked as a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. A. Sobral group from 2013-2016 on the development of fungal cell wall targeted antifungal therapies. In fall 2016, Dr. Wani moved to the University of Texas, USA, Texas Therapeutics Institute, Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine, UTHealth on the development of non-traditional antimicrobial agents and strategies combating multi-drug resistance. He has many international publications, book chapters, and a book, besides many international and national honours and awards to his credit. Dr. Wani is working hard to advance the medicinal chemistry and drug discovery field with new questions and pertinent issues of 21st century.

Hao Shao is an Associate Professor in the school of Civil Engineering & Architecture at Anhui University of Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. from China University of Petroleum (East China) and has visited the section of Safety and Security Science at Delft University of Technology (TUD). He is mainly engaged in industrial system resilience assessment and optimization, complex process system reliability, fire and explosion accident intelligent prevention and control research, so as to prevent petrochemical production accidents and provide effective decision-making for petrochemical production process. His relevant researches provide new ideas and contributions to the development of risk assessment and resilience assessment and optimization methodologies.

Dr. Anish Khan is currently working as Assistant Professor in Chemistry Department, Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials Research (CEAMR), Faculty of Science, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Completed Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University, India in 2010. Completed Postdoctoral from School of Chemical Sciences, University Sains Malaysia (USM) in Electroanalytical chemistry in 2010. Working in the field of synthetic biosensor, polymer composites, organic–inorganic electrically conducting nanocomposites. More than 200 research articles, 70 book chapters 30 books published in referred international publisher and more than 20 international conferences/ workshop. More than 30 research projects completed. Editorial board member of more than 11 international journals. Member of American Nano Society.

About the Editors:
Mohmmad Younus Wani is associate professor of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry in the College of Science, University of Jeddah, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India, and Postdoctoral training from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and Texas Therapeutics Institute, UTHealth, Houston, Texas, USA on the development of small molecule inhibitors, new treatment strategies and non-traditional approaches to fight infectious diseases and combat antimicrobial drug resistance (AMR). With an extensive experience in the field of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery, he has authored/co-authored over 55 peer-reviewed research articles and 05 books, and is the recipient of many prestigious honors, awards, and grants. He is a professional member of many scientific societies and is on the editorial board of many reputed scientific journals. Dr. Wani is working at the interface of chemistry and biology to develop novel small molecule inhibitors, new treatment strategies and novel approaches that could circumvent AMR, which is within the ambit of WHO’s global action plan on antimicrobial resistance.
Salman Ahmad Khan was born in Uttar Pradesh, India, in 1981. He received his master’s degree in Organic chemistry from the Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Uttar Pradesh, India and Ph.D. in 2007 from Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi, India. In year 2007, he joined the Department of Chemistry, Punjabi University as a Research Associate and later as assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, Integral University, Lucknow-UP in 2008. Prof. Salman A. Khan joined the Department of Chemistry, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in the year 2009 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted as an Associate Professor in 2014. He joined the School of Sciences, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) as a professor in 2019. His current research focuses on the multi-step and one-pot synthesis of heterocyclic compounds comprising chromones, chalcones, anthraquinones, cholesterol, and stigmasterol as well as their photophysical, physicochemical, sensor and nanotechnology-based applications. Prof. Salman is an active researcher who has supervised master's and doctoral theses and published more than 150 research papers in reputed international Journals.
Hao Shao is associate professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Southwest University, Chongqing, China. He received his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and postdoctoral training from the University of California, San Francisco, USA. Dr. Shao has authored/co-authored over 45 peer-reviewed research articles and served as a reviewer for many journals in the field. He is also members of many scientific societies. Dr. Shao’s research focuses on small molecule drug discovery for cancer and neurogenerative diseases through a multidisciplinary approach, including high throughput screening, protein biochemistry, computer-aided drug design, organic synthesis and pharmacology, with an overreaching goal to develop drug-like compounds and evaluate their efficacy in pre-clinical models for the future translation to the clinic. His lab currently is interested in targeting cyclin-dependent kinases, molecular chaperones and AAA+ ATPases for the treatment of cancer and neurogenerative diseases.
Anish Khan is currently an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department at the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials Research (CEAMR), King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he specializes in synthetic polymers, particularly organic-inorganic electrically conducting nanocomposites. He holds a Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University, India (2010) and completed postdoctoral training at the University Sains Malaysia (2010-2011). With over 200 research papers, 15 books, and 55 book chapters to his credit, Dr. Khan has led or contributed to approximately 20 research projects spanning polymer nanocomposites, chemical sensors, ion-exchange materials, nanotechnology applications in electroanalytical chemistry, and green chemistry solutions for pollution remediation. His work focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of advanced materials, including hybrid nanocomposites, cation-exchange materials, and biosensors for neurotransmitters and heavy metals. Additionally, he serves as Managing Editor of the Chemical and Environmental Research (CER) Journal and is an active member of scientific societies such as the American Nano Society.
