Occasionally the column printed letters he had written to others as well. There are also hilarious exchanges with ordinary readers, as well as letters from Buckley to various organizations and government agencies.

William Buckley is the author of 50 previous works of fiction and non-fiction. The founder and former editor of American magazine National Review, he has been one of the intellectual leaders of the right since the 1950s, and his syndicate column On the Right appears in newspapers across the US. A former CIA Agent, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W Bush in 1991. He lives in New York and Connecticut.
