Other important changes include expanded coverage of satellite communications; a discussion of serial and parallel interfaces; and a fully updated chapter on the standards-making organizations illustrating what shapes the industry today. The book includes review questions and problems at the end of each chapter and covers the whole spectrum of data communications from first principles. It assumes little prior knowledge of networking.
