Inhaltsangabe

Have you considered moving into an ESL administrative position? Have you wondered if you would make a good administrator? If you answered yes to these questions, this book is for you. From the Classroom to the Boardroom was written for the teacher contemplating a move to administration. The book is full of important advice and issues to consider regarding this career move. To help, Self-Reflection Questions close each chapter of the book.

In From the Classroom to the Boardroom, the authors draw on their many years of experience in ESL program administration to help potential or new administrators understand how to successfully transfer their instructional skills and abilities to the new role. Since most institutions do not provide any formal administrative training, the authors have written this useful manual for exploring the road to educational administration.

The book covers topics such as understanding the organizational structure and different administrative positions, determining when to move into an administrative role, the qualities of an effective administrator, the administrator's quest for resources, and tips for revamping the resume for a new role. The book also contains useful case studies specific to working with international students.
