Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the structure of continuous and finite transformation groups, a topic introduced by the eminent mathematician Sophus Lie. The author explores the foundational concepts of integral and non-integral groups, providing a rigorous and comprehensive analysis of their properties and behavior. The book's insights have shaped our understanding of group theory, particularly in the field of differential equations, where Lie's work on continuous transformation groups laid the groundwork for solving equations with group invariance. This book serves as a valuable resource for mathematicians and physicists seeking a deeper understanding of the structure of transformation groups and their applications in solving complex equations.
