'I have recently begun to collect quality, leatherbound Bibles of my favourite translations. This one is now my favourite of them all! The workmanship is uncomparable; calfskin leather, gilted edges, 2 ribbon markers, excellent paper and print quality. It includes a presentation page, concordance, cross reference, maps and Bible dictionary. Best of all, it is the lovely Elizabethan language of the KJV, and includes the Apocryphal/Deuterocanonical Books. This is the only leatherbound version I know of like this. Cambridge makes gorgeous Bibles that will last generations. Despite other reviews that their copies had problems, mine is flawless! Many people have been brought up with the King James Version, and continue to read it with great affection throughout their lives. Commissioned by King James I in 1603 and first published in 1611, its objective was 'to make God's holy Truth to be yet more and more known unto the people'. The Apocrypha, or Deuterocanonical Books, were included in early King James Version Bibles but are not often found today. This edition offers not only the Apocrypha, but cross-references, a Concordance and Dictionary as well. The Bible is bound in black calfskin leather and comes in a Cambridge double slipcase.
