Inhaltsangabe

Meet Bessie Coleman the first African-American woman to earn her international pilot's license against great odds.

Fact-filled Rookie Read-About Biographies introduce the youngest readers to influential women and men, both past and present. Colorful photos and age appropriate text encourage children to read on their own-as they learn about people like Serena Williams, Neil Armstrong, Rosa Parks, Anne Frank and many more. No one in America was willing to teach a black woman to fly. Still, Bessie never gave up on her dream of becoming a world-famous aviator.
