Kathleen Thompson Norris (1880-1966), a renowned American novelist and journalist, was born in San Francisco. She attended a special course at the University of California and worked for various San Francisco newspapers. Norris became one of the most famous writers of her time with her articles, stories, and idealized family novels on themes such as love, feminism, struggle, and poverty. Her writings include Certain People of Importance (1922), Mother (1911), and One Nation Indivisible (1942).
