An increasing research into Works published during the infancy of English Literature, and the prevailing Taste for Antiquarian Studies, (neither of which can be successfully pursued without aK nowledge of A nglo-S axon) have induced the Compiler to attempt what he has long looked for from abler Hands. In the Arrangement of this Work, the Plan of Dr. Valpy sexcellent Latin Grammar has been adhered to, as closely as the peculiarities of the two Languages would permit; and whilst brevity has been throughout consulted, obscurity has at the same Time been carefully avoided. A short Praxis and Vocabulary are added for theE xercise of theL earner. Wakefield, Nov. 1st, 1819.
