Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Kazuo Ishiguro, 1954 in Nagasaki geboren, kam 1960 nach London, wo er Englisch und Philosophie studierte. 1987 erhielt er für seinen zweiten Roman, "Der Maler der fließenden Welt" (bei btb in Vorbereitung), den bedeutendsten Literaturpreis Großbritanniens, den Whitbread Award for Fiction. Für seinen Weltbestseller "Was vom Tage übrigblieb", der von James Ivory verfilmt wurde, wurde er 1989 mit dem Bookerprize ausgezeichnet, 1995 wurde ihm der Cheltenham Prize verliehen. Kazuo Ishiguros Werk wurde bisher in 28 Sprachen übersetzt. Der Autor lebt mit Frau und Kind in London.
