Douglas Clayton Carter is the Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Burlington where he has served 41 consecutive years in the ministry. He was raised in a large family of 12 children in Ironton, Ohio. He was called into the ministry at the age of 42. Having been married twice, widowed once, Rev. Dr. Carter has 11 children and a host of grandchildren. He is a consummate story teller who tends to keep listeners on the edge of their seats. He decided to put his life experiences in narrative form for all to read. Journey Onward is his first authored book. He lives with his wife in Burlington, Ohio where he is fondly and respectfully referred to as “Pastor Carter”. Tracy Carter-Morgan was born in Ironton Ohio and the daughter of Douglas and Norah June Ellis Carter. While growing up, she became a PK (Preacher’s Kid) during her tween age years. Professionally, Tracy has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist for over 25 years serving children and adults who have communication and swallowing disorders. As a child, she enjoyed hearing her father tell story after story about his past. She decided to collect his accounts and put them in written form for all to enjoy. Journey Onward is her first authored book. Tracy lives with her husband and children in Dallas, Georgia.
