As successful as they were professionally, his parents were not good at marriage: his father was married five times and his mother, three times. By the time he was 15, Tom yearned for a stable home, a place to belong. Expelled from schools, he managed to graduate from a high school in Switzerland. However, while in Europe, he broke through boundaries of morality and plunged into sexual defilement. In order to rescue himself from the guilt and shame of his sexual defilements he chose to form a relationship with a pure and wholesome girl. But he was disillusioned and devastated when, at the time he propsed, he learned that his wife-to-be had been raped and was pregnant.
