My name is Markie Mitchell. I am a 29 year old heterosexual cisgendered female who identifies as Biracial. I have a master's degree in social work with a focus in clinical mental health. I have always loved serving children and have a passion for bringing my clinician experiences into the lives of others. I am working to create a children's book series with a focus on mental health, specifically for children of color who have experienced trauma. The current state of the racial unrest of our society has given me motivation to create content that is sensitive, relatable, and inspiring. The characters and ideas from the story are bits and pieces of my life and reflect my own experience with mental health.
