Aus dem Klappentext

Do you ever feel that the real history of football has never been written? It's all very well having the facts at your fingertips, but what are the true stories behind those statistics? And do you know the answers to some really quite important questions, like which club is still officially at war with Germany, who was the first player to score direct from a corner kick, which trophy has three handles, and when was a match postponed because of a solar eclipse?

End-to-End Stuff, Les Scott's exhaustive life's work, answers all those questions. In sixty-six (there wasn't room for 1966) handy, informative and entertaining sections, it covers everything from balls to caps, blunders and coincidences, strips, songs and even the weather, revealing tales lost in the mists of football time through a winning combination of anecdotes, facts, quotes and statistics.

But perhaps most importantly, it permits the likes of Bobby Fairfoul, Barry Wardrobe, Eggcup Emberton, Barney Battles, Ken Smith 1 and Ken Smith 2, Tommy Trial and Trevor Womble - not to mention those famous match officials Charlie Faultless and Arthur Bookim - to reclaim their rightful positions alongside Bobby Moore, David Beckham and Wayne Rooney in the annals of football history.
