The idea for this book came from a desire to help people recognize that children's sports were becoming too negative. I have coached and attended many children's soccer, basketball, and softball games. I couldn't help but notice the tension and frustration of the parents and other coaches. As an athlete myself, I remember the negative effect that this kind of behavior had on my teammates and me. I wanted to remind people that if we show children love and respect in their athletic efforts, the experience will be a positive one for everyone involved.
