Michael Roberts founded Laser F/X in 1976 and has received multiple international awards for his laser work, including ILDA awards and the Pangolin Prize. He has also won the "Innovative Product Award" from the Huron Manufacturers Association, and won the "Entrepreneur of the Year" award from the Goderich and District Chamber of Commerce. Michael retired from the laser industry in 2006 when he accepted a position as Director Of Research and Chief Scientist for an R and D company with a focus on renewable resources and Green Technology, where he was granted two patents on UV Water Disinfection Technology. Some years of R and D later, Michael invented the world's first LED plant/grow light COB engines with a spectral output that has a close match (up to 90%) to the McCree curve.
