Excerpt from Contract Record and Engineering Review, Vol. 32: July 3, 1918
The final session on the afternoon of Thursday, June 21, was chiefly occupied with a discussion of after-the-war conditions, and it was pointed out that a large immigration to Canada was to be expected when the war ended, with resulting activity in the building trades.
Introducing a little entertainment for the benefit of the visitors, the local Builders' Exchange got up a theatre party for the first night of the convention. Also on Thursday morning, the delegates were taken over the city and visited some of the industrial plants, al though rain interfered somewhat with the original programme.
The Association decided to hold their next year's convention at Chatham, and the time was set for the second week in February, that being a more convenient season of the year than the month of June.
