On September 1 a form for making a written report was mailed to each person to whom seed had been supplied, together with a letter asking that a report be made even if success had not been attained in the production of the crop.
Replies were received from 810 (43 percent) of the persons who were supplied with seed from Urbana. Of the 630 Illinois resi dents receiving seed, 232 sent in reports; of the persons in other states who were sent seed, 566 filed reports.1 Twelve reports were received from foreign countries, to which 25 lots of seed had been sent.
