Or, l'on a souvent parlé du rêve comme fournissant des éléments précieux, et pourle diagnostic, et pour le pronostic; et, cependant, il est remarquable que l'on ne s'adresse jamais, en fait, aux rêves, pour en tirer de tels enseignements. Le médecin trouve en gé néral tout naturel de tàter le pouls et de prendre la température, au besoin, de faire tirer la langue, et bien souvent il néglige tout ce qui n'est pas état pu rement somatique chez le malade et il ne tient aucun compte de son état psychologique. Mais en tout cas, à la plupart il paraîtrait souverainement ridicule de tenir compte, fût-cc en passant de vétilles telles que les rêves. Et c'est tout juste sr parfois l'on ose s'y risquer, lorsqu'il s'agit de troubles purement psycho logiques et de maladies mentales en général.
