He also lays the groundwork for the study of hypotheses about their etiology and provides a complete discussion of psychological factors. He identifies gaps in present knowledge and suggests directions for future research. Dr. Cobb, who has worked for nearly twenty years (1971) on the epidemiology of rheumatic diseases. He has documented his text with forty-one tables and twelve figures. He is a program director in the Survey Research Center, Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan.
