Alf Herigstad has loved writing since he was a child. Since then he has authored hundreds of poems and stories, just for fun. He had a love for the written word and enjoyed being able to invoke emotion and inspire thought in others. Later, he wrote professionally for a time in the Army and used his passion for writing in many of his entrepreneurial ventures. In 2012, Alf became a contestant on a popular Norwegian Reality show called ‘Alt For Norge,’ it was a life-changing experience in many ways. Upon returning to America he wrote his first book, an account of his adventures based on the journal he kept in Norway. A revision of that book will be available soon in paperback and digitally. Its a behind the scenes look at being on a reality show in a different country, what its like to be embraced by a nation, and the experience of being ‘re-booted’ to your factory settings. Alf has done a lot of things in the past five decades; He isn’t just a minor celebrity in Norway, he has been a boxer, a boxing gym owner / trainer, a construction contractor, an Ostrich farmer, a long-haul truck driver and worked in several other industries such as real estate and fitness. Alf is currently the creator and host of the popular podcast, ‘Being A Better Man.’ A program that is focused exclusively on the character of men of all ages. He also enjoys contributing to his local community by volunteering time to projects, hosting gatherings, and also being a substitute school bus driver with a portion of his time.
