Copyright page states "First published in the United States of America by Crown Publishers, Inc.," which sounds like a first edition, but then adds "Reprinted 1976." Follows the 1972 New English Library Edition. Not price clipped -- original $30.00 price showing. Laminating material on full-color photo DJ has formed some vertical striations (wrinkles), both front & back. DJ also sports a one-inch closed tear to top of front panel. Dated Christmas, 1976, inscribed, and signed in blue ballpoint to the FFE by co-author Kenneth Munson ("the handsome one".) There seems to be a conscious DE-emphasis on both aerial warfare and engineering, in favor of airlines, flying clubs, and the like. Occasional British focus revealed by such chapters as "Hendon's Heyday." ("Scene of the never-to-be-forgotten RAF Pageants and Displays.")
