In this step-by-step introduction to the major ethical theories, this book aims to initiate the reader into the study of original texts. Over 20 extracts from primary source are provided, and each theory is clarified with an introduction and criticism. The discussion sections, a particular feature of Michael Palmer's original philosophy course at Manchester Grammar School (the source for this book), link each theory to a contemporary issue, showing how philosophy is relevant to everyday life.
