George Ireland was born in 1958 and acted as a ghost writer for A GILT-EDGED LIFE, the memoirs of Edmund de Rothschild, and has been a principal writer and editor of obituaries for the Daily Telegraph since 1992. Previously a barrister and private secretary to Robert Maxwell, he was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he read History.
