Reseña del editor:
The story of John Hall is the story of one man's struggle against lifelong adversity. Having been born severely disabled, John has never allowed his handicaps to come between him and his dreams. Despite deafness, and spasticity severely affecting his coordination, he has devoted much of his adult life to fundraising and working to improve the lives of other handicapped people. In 1990 he was rightly honoured at a gala evening where he was presented with an Unsung Heroes award by the Celebrity Guild of Great Britain. Now with the unconquerable spirit that has characterised his life John is fighting incurable cancer. By his example - his optimism, determination and resilience - he continues to be an inspiration to others.
Biografía del autor:
Tom Blair joined the Fleet Air Arm in 1948 as a naval airman 3rd class and saw service in the Far East, Malta and several air stations in the UK. The final three years of his service (having completed twenty-two years) were spent instructing new entries in engineering at HMS Daedalus at Lee-on-the-Solent. He was demobbed in 1971. Tom spent most of his civilian working life advising industries about health and safety at work. He retired at sixty-five, but soon became bored and ran a private hire business with his wife until he decided to retire for the second time at the tender age of seventy-eight. Tom is well known as a member of the Fleet Air Arm Field Gun Association, and he took part in the Royal Tournament at Earl's Court in 1951.
