Written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter (1866-1943). Her passion for the natural world lay behind the creation of her famous little books. A particular source of inspiration was the Lake District where she lived for the last thirty years of her life as a farmer and conservationist.

Limited Edition Cased Set, special numbered edition of 100 sets to commemorate the centenary of the first publication in 1905. Small format book with cream cloth and silver titles. 56 numbered pages, all edges gilt. With explanatory leaflet giving a brief biography of Beatrix Potter and the history of the publication of The Tale of The Pie and the Patty-Pan. Contained in a grey hinged box with silver title and circular onlay to front. Also includes a grey leather foil-blocked bookmark. This is copy no. 59. There are a couple of light scuff/scratch marks to top of presentation box else fine. Presentation box is further protected by a white card slip band. Contained in original brown packaging box (with limitation details label to front) and 'cotton' (referring to binding) written in blue biro to front, small dent to one edge of the box.
