Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Human Kinetics began in 1974 in the basement of Rainer Martens' home in Champaign, Illinois, when Martens--then a professor at the University of Illinois--decided to publish the proceedings of a sport psychology conference he had organized.

Thomas Hanlon has written 18 books, mostly for Human Kinetics. He also acted as a ghostwriter for Teens Can Make It Happen for Stedman Graham, which made the New York Times Bestseller List in 2000. Hanlon, an avid runner and sports enthusiast, lives in Champaign, Illinois, with his wife, Janet, and their two children.
