Rezensionen

Grade 10 Up - The 25 articles in this volume are copyrighted in 2001 or later, with almost a third of them from 2003. Essays address biological terrorism, possible causes of terrorism, the Patriot Act, racial profiling, immigration, the United Nations' involvement in fighting it, and war as a response to terrorism. Although most of the entries are excerpted from scholarly journals, some have been taken from Congressional testimony. Familiar names such as John Ashcroft and L. Paul Bremer are represented as well as an essay credited to Hamas. The well-written articles give students much to consider and discuss. Pair this volume with Robert Taylor's The History of Terrorism (Gale, 2002) and Stephen Currie's Terrorists and Terrorist Groups (Gale, 2002) for objective research. - Joanne K. Cecere, Monroe-Woodbury High School, Central Valley, NY
