Laelia Goehr has been photographing musicians during rehearsals since 1965 and the book includes 200 photographs. To accompany these photographs, John Amis of "My Music" has written a vignette of each musician detailing their influences and achievements, as well as giving some trade secrets. Laelia Goehr has had work published in "Picture Post" and "Lilliput" and her photographs have been exhibited in the Royal Festival Hall and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
