Inhaltsangabe

An attempt to provide a comprehensive introduction to drawing skills. It lays out the principles of drawing for the complete beginner and gives exercises to follow using objects found in the home. By working through the book the beginner should develop the skill to produce both drawings as the basis for paintings and works that are pleasurable in themselves. The "Art Class" series is aimed at the practical art market and builds up into a structured art course. The series combines equipment, technique and projects in a structured format which is illustrated in colour with step by step illustrations, works by the authors and other artists. The emphasis throughout is on learning through practice and each book contains projects to help readers develop new skills. The series provides a fully worked course in art, though each book is complete in itself and all are written by practising artists and teachers. It is aimed at the leisure artist, but all projects and techniques have been tested by amateur artists to ensure that they are explained correctly and comprehensively.
