This lively and imaginative book illustrates and suggests solutions for common management problems using the age-old device of story-telling. In the great tradition of the Greek slave Aesop who lived and told his animal fables around 600BC, seventeen animals have been chosen for this unique set of cautionary tales for managers. These include the Wombat from Australia, the Chameleon from Africa, the Hedgehog from the UK, and the Beaver from North America. It is a fascinating book to help managers understand the people they work with, and for management trainers who want their message to stick!
The chapters follow a teaching format which has been very successful for the authors. The first section of each chapter introduces a common management problem using a fictional animal fable; the second section follows up with corresponding real-life management case study; the third gives valuable tips for managers who recognize themselves or their teams in the stories.
