Inhaltsangabe

Phoenix Nights is the hugely successful Channel 4 comedy series set in a Bolton working man’s club, starring multi-talented Peter Kaye. It’s make or break time for wheelchair-bound club owner Brian Potter at the Grand Gala opening of his new venue: The Phoenix. The only way is up for Brian and his staff Jerry St Clair, Max and Paddy, Les Alanos, Ray Von, Holy Mary and dog-worrying fire officer Keith Lard. But the glory days of the industry have long passed; the gala opening with TV’s Roy Walker guarantees local press coverage, but from then on it’s a fight to survive.

Phoenix Nights is a beautifully observed comedy of errors and of human endeavour on the smallest scale. In these superlative scripts from both the first and second series, relive the comedy magic that has become the show’s trademark. Including 150 colour photographs and stills from both series, Phoenix Nights: The Scripts is a true reflection of a show that has become one of the biggest comedy hits of recent years.
