Hallmark lost her business when Booker was forced to make her mom a birthday card after spending the money her father gave for it. Fortunately, her creativity turned out to be beautiful prose and a new way of showing her love.Always keeping the pen to paper, years later she submitted an article to the local weekly edition of her town's newspaper and became a staff writer shortly after.
