Críticas:
...concentrates on the Ford Model A, which was produced from 1928 to 1931 and was the salvation of henry Ford's ailing company, after 25 years of manufacturing the Model T. henry took some persuading, but as the sales of the increasingly outdated Model T continued to fall and his dealer network collapsed, he eventually agreed to produce a completely new car for the people. the resaulting New Ford Model A was a phenomenal success, with more than five million rolling off the lines by the end of 1931. It was completely different to its predecessor and such was its classic styling and enduring popularity it is estiamted that around the world over 500,000 still exsist over 80 years since its introduction. More reproduction parts are stll manufactured and there is a massive support from Model A clubs around the world. Most significantly, as the cars were relatively modern for the times they are still practicale enought to be driven on the roads. The aim of Motorbooks Collectors Originality Guides is to provide information about the featured venicle clearly, succiinctly, and aided by top quality photographs. In this, established author and renowned Model A expert Jim Schild succeds big time. Interspersed with interesting anecdotes and historical facts, every body style of the 50 or so produced over the four-year run are described, together with details of the engines, suspension, and trim levels. Tudors, Fordors, Roadsters, Station Wagons and coupes will be familiar to many readers. However, there are interesting descriptions and clear pictures of Town sedans, Victoria Coupes, the leatherback Fordor, Roadster, Pickup, DeLuxe Phaeton and many more, including several commercial vehicles based on both the Model A and the dual rear wheel derivative, the Model AA truck. Taxi-cabs, a school bus, a recovery truck complete with crane and a US mail truck are all featured. Schild provides an entertaining journey into Ford's early history. The photos are superb, and the overall presentation is excellent for as budget-priced soft-back. For the casual reader the photos are worth the asking price, but it excels as a valuable tool for the hardcore Model A enthusiast who can utilise the text and pictures as an aid to improving their restorations. --Classic American, Feb, 2010

This is a fabulous book that covers all one needs to know about restoring such a classic as this....usmotortraders dot net...The 20th century is strewn with many a Car that Saved Ford. One such savior was the 1928 1931 Model A. Successor to the ubiquitous Model T, the A was both much more sophisticated, and shorter lived than Henry s Tin Lizzy. Debuting in 1928 to an advertising blitz the Advertising Club of New York called the most soundly coordinated advertising campaign in America s advertising history, the A stood in stark contrast to the simplistic T. With over 800,000 orders placed by spring 1928, the A became the Ford that fit your needs, rather than the other way around. The car-buying public had grown weary of the simplistic Model T, and demanded a car with more creature comforts and features. With Chevrolet outselling Ford for the first time in 1927, the Model A couldn t come soon enough for both the Blue Oval, and car buyers. Jim Schild s comprehensive guide to the marque contains over 275 color photographs, year by year production charts and detailed descriptions of the model changes, which occurred at a break-neck pace. In 1930 alone the A could have been purchased with one of six different jacks! Want to know the correct species of wood for your 1928 Woody wagon s framing? This paperback tome will tell you. (It s maple, by the way) The A has been popular with the Hot Rodders for years, but authentically restored cars are equally valued, and are much more difficult to achieve. Jim Schild s Collector s Originality Guide: Ford Model A will make sure that yours isn t so hard. --Hooniverse dot com, January, 2010

Reseña del editor:

Collector's Originality Guide: Ford Model A is the definitive guide to one of the greatest cars in American history: The Ford Model A. The successor to the ubiquitous and world-changing Model T, the Model A arrived on the scene in 1928 to considerable fanfare, thanks to the marketing genius of Henry Ford. And this much-hyped car delivered exactly what the public wanted: a solid, reliable, up-to-date--and beautiful--new car. Naturally, this car became an instant classic, and has been a favorite among collectors and restorers for decades.

In this paperback reissue of the highly popular hardcover book, author and photographer Jim Schild walks through all of the details of the Model A's four-year production, providing collectors with everything they need to know to identify, classify, and restore these fabulous cars. Filled with gorgeous color photography, this book has been and continues to be a must-have for all Model A fans.
