In 1963, with a revitalization of traditional cultural, political, and religious values, bolstered by security threats, Greek Cypriots sought to marginalize and terrorize Turkish Cypriots. The result was a breakdown of the inter-communal dialogue necessary for the creation of a State. H. Ibrahim Salih was born in Kyrenia, Cyprus, and is a professor of Political Science at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas. Professor Salih holds a Ph.D. in International Studies from American University in Washington, D.C. He is the author of numerous books and articles on Cyprus.
